Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using SideStash. By installing or using SideStash, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use SideStash. These Terms apply to the SideStash browser extension and the SideStash desktop application (collectively, "SideStash," "the app," "we," or "us").
1. Description of Service
SideStash is a software tool that allows users to pin text and images from webpages to a persistent sidebar within their browser or desktop environment. SideStash operates entirely on the user's local device. No SideStash servers exist. No account is required to use the free tier.
2. License Tiers
SideStash is offered under three tiers:
- Free — available at no cost with a limit of 20 pins and access to core features.
- Gold — available for a one-time payment, unlocking unlimited pins and all browser extension power features.
- Platinum — available for a one-time payment, including all Gold features plus the SideStash desktop application for Mac and Windows.
Feature availability per tier is described on the SideStash pricing page and may be updated from time to time.
3. License Grant
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use SideStash on your personal devices for your own personal or professional purposes.
Your license does not permit you to:
- Copy, modify, distribute, sell, or sublicense SideStash or any part of it
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the application
- Remove or alter any proprietary notices or labels
- Use SideStash to build a competing product
- Share, transfer, or resell your license key to another person
4. Purchases and Payments
All purchases are processed by Paddle, our payment provider. By completing a purchase, you also agree to Paddle's Terms of Service. We do not store your payment information.
All prices are listed in US dollars. Applicable taxes may be added by Paddle at checkout depending on your location. Paddle acts as the Merchant of Record for all transactions.
Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy.
5. License Key Activation
Upon completing a Gold or Platinum purchase, you will receive a license key by email. This key is for your personal use only. You are responsible for keeping it secure. We reserve the right to revoke license keys that have been shared, resold, or used in violation of these Terms.
License key validation requires an internet connection at the time of activation. After activation, SideStash functions fully offline.
6. Updates and Changes
We may update, modify, or discontinue SideStash at any time. We will make reasonable efforts to maintain compatibility with major browser versions but cannot guarantee uninterrupted functionality as browsers evolve. We are not obligated to provide updates, but we intend to maintain and improve the product over time.
We reserve the right to change the features available in each tier, including adding features to higher tiers or adjusting what the free tier includes. Existing paid users will not have features removed from their purchased tier without notice.
7. Intellectual Property
SideStash and all related content, branding, code, and assets are the intellectual property of their respective owner. These Terms do not transfer any intellectual property rights to you. The SideStash name, logo, and product design are proprietary and may not be used without written permission.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
We specifically disclaim all implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties, so the above may not apply to you.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or loss of business, arising out of or in connection with your use of SideStash.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or SideStash shall not exceed the amount you paid for your license, if any.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of [YOUR STATE], United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the courts located in [YOUR COUNTY/STATE].
11. Changes to These Terms
